I loved using several DecoArt mediums for this project. I used the Americana Chalkboard paint for his sign, so that you can use real chalk to write the count down til cookie day! I applied several coats, going in opposite direction with each coat. I wanted a good base.
Of course every white tree needs a little sparkle!! I love sparkles! I applied DecoArt Glamour Dust onto the cured /dried tree to add shimmer. I love this product as it adds such pretty shimmer.
I am ask all the time how do I grunge/texture my candles! I did a tutorial video on this last year and share in my FB group page. Maybe I will try and post this video to the FB OldeMoonlane Page, as I can't get it off my phone to post here without posting there first. It takes me hours to download a video to FB, so if I get time I will try. This is so easy!!! I like letting a bottle of DecoArt Dimensional Effects get a little pasty/dried out as it gets thick. I apply all over the candle. Let dry over night. No need to roll in those messy grungy recipes. Once, you try this you'll never roll again!!
Santa's wants me to remind you only 60 Days Til Cookie Day!!!!
© 2017 All Design Rights Reserved! Tips, Tricks and Techniques are meant to inspire only. I hope I have inspired you to be creative. Please respect my wishes as I give my tips, tricks and techniques with my whole heart. If you wish to make my designs I give permission to those ONLY in pattern form which you can find on etsy. I openly share and if enough like a project I do put it on a wish list for future patterns.
This piece stands approximately 12" tall and has my imprinted initials on the back. It seems, since I have started making patterns, I keep so many pieces as Demo's but I have many who want to purchase the finished pieces. I am thinking, I may not keep so many Demo's as this is my now full-time job and my only source of income. If I teach a class, (I have such detailed patterns) I really do Not need the Demo. I may list this fella this week in etsy. I am still mulling it over whether to keep or sell. I did photograph this project just in case many would like a pattern. I have just finished my last pattern deadline and I need a little break to just create, so if I do this for a pattern it will not be until next year. If you like, please comment below or I will not take the time to consider the project for a class or pattern. Thanks for your continued support I hope you like the tips on today's blog! Happy Creating!
Blessings!
